Empathy – The Key #SuperBloggerChallenge2018 #Instacuppa

Have you realized, many a time when one is stressed by a situation, you feel completely hopeless. Despite all the efforts that you may undertake, you don’t seem to be able to find a way out. You feel so completely bogged down by the pressure. The problem you are facing feels like the biggest in life, because your whole life is almost coming to a stop. You get into a miserable space and the negative spiral is never ending. One thing after another, things seem to be tumbling down like a domino in action.

Hold that thought right there. Practice to stop your thought process as soon as you know the direction is not right. No matter how much your heart makes your issue sound the most difficult and unsolvable, believe it its not true. The more we talk about our problems to others, the more we realise we are not alone. Everybody is always going through some sort of difficulty in life. And yet, we all still move on. We do not stop the search for the solution. The solution could be right next to you. Your vision is so hazed by your grey thoughts that you might not be able to see it.

If everyone is anyway going through troubles in life, shouldn’t be easier if we just support each other instead of fighting each other. It is easier said than done. Why ? like I said we find our own problems bigger always. But wait, all is not lost yet. We humans have always survived biggest of miseries. All sorts of nature’s furies that have befallen us and all disasters that we have created for ourselves. We have made it through them all. How is this possible…

Empathy – herein lies the Key

When the “WE” comes before “ME”, it is easier to take the first step of climbing up that spiral, rather than going down. The tendency to help another with their problems when you yourself might be facing difficulties in life, comes from this thought of empathy. Self healing of your wounds comes from healing others. The mental peace that you will derive will show you the path to your solution. And the most important aspect is you cannot fake it if you cannot feel it.

  1. I loved your analogy of our self-burying thoughts to a spiralling downward staircase! That’s how it feels, getter deeper and deeper into a maze of no end and no return when you are stuck in it. I know, cause I have been there just like everyone else! But the good part is like you have mentioned lately I have found a way to pause, to search for a solution, to see the bigger picture, and use words like “Just sleep, tomorrow will be better” or “I am not a reaction” 🙂

    A relatable post Lakshmi!

  2. Great Post. I have faced these situations in my life and getting away from those bad thoughts are the most correct thing to do if alone but getting help from friends and family is always the best way.
